OK, I am full of questions tonight but I got an SPL meter and am trying to optimize my sound. My question is for the the sound coming from cable/TV to my receiver. On my receiver I have the option to use either regular pro logic or expanded. It says in the manual that expanded is good for cable and and non digital formats. ALso my TV has an effects button that says either "surround" or none. I was wondering which of these I should use? My TV is a Wega and my receiver is a Pioneer 509S if that helps. Thanks so much.

I use my receiver's "TV Logic" function for watching most TV and VCR programs...but I turn to "All Channels" for watching sports events (to simulate the stadium effect).

The manual doesn't know what kind of equipment or living arrangements you have so it would be best for you to sit in your listening position and try each of the dsp's out. Whichever sounds best to you should be the one you go with IMO. Although this might change depending on what channels you watch since some channels are louder/quieter than the others.
