Toshiba 4700 - priblem with capturing screen background
Hey all...
As you probably know, the Toshiba 4700 offers the option to capture a screenshot to use as the background of the dvd player instead of a solid color. However, i cannot get this to work at all - after i capture a screen - it just goes back to the default toshiba background. Anyone out there have this player and know how to solve this problem?
Thanks a bunch in advance,
Matt

Hi KillerQ,
I use the SD 3750, but (if I remember correctly) they work pretty much the same as far as the "capture" feature is concerned.
Ok, from what you've said, I gather that you've been able to take the capture, but just can't get your capture to show. Correct?
I was a bit confused at first too, but then sort of stumbled onto the answer.
After you capture the shot you want to use for your background, the player will not automatically default to your capture. You still need to go into the setup options and select the capture option for your background.
1. Capture the shot you like.
2. STOP the disk (you can't change backgrounds while the movie is playing).
3. Go into the main "Setup" menu for the player.
4. Go to the "Display" section.
5. Go to the "Background" section.
6. Highlight "Background," hit enter, select "Capture" from the choices, hit "Enter," now exit the setup section.
From this point on, all the menus for the player should use your capture as the background.
Good luck

I just got a 4700 for xmas and have been playing around with the capturing feature. It seems to me that the captured image only displays when you hit "stop" while playing a movie. The default Toshiba image still pops up when you power on the player or at other certain times.
I can confirm though, the captured image does work when you hit stop.

Hey...
I figured the problem out. Other DVD's work fine! For some reason, the DVD i was using at first would not work - must have been some weird copy protection thing or something -- not sure. The DVD was the new Queen We Will Rock You DTS re-release.
Thanks,
Matt
