This is for the whole year-BTW. Some time in June or so, I plan to buy a new HDTV or a new receiver. The Yamaha DSP-AZ1 is the receiver I want and a Pioneer 43 inch HDTV is the TV I want. I cannot buy both at that time, but am leaning toward buying the TV first. What do you think? Which should be first? Also, is there a better HDTV out there? I have not seen the Fujitsu yet, but in comparison to the Panasonic, Hitachi, and Sharp that I have seen, the Pioneer really outclassed them all.

Also, the Yamaha will really act like a preamp since I have a Parasound 5 channel for power. Is there a better way to go? I know of the Outlaws but the 950 will not have D4 inputs or outputs from what I have seen. Those are absolutely necessary in todays upgrade and digital world.

Why go with a receiver when you are going to use your Parasound amp. I would go with a Parasound pre-amp or with just a preamp in general.

Preamp would normally be my way to go. However, the digital inputs and outputs for D4 are important (most new DVD players like the Panasonic Rp91 have D4 outputs and most new players will also have this along with Firewire outputs. I have yet to find a preamp to do this. The Yamaha does have preouts so using it as a preamp is not out of the question.
