Differences between Tosh SD-3750 and 4700
I just want to do a quick check and make sure i didn't miss anything. As far as i've read, the only differences between the 2 Tosh models I've mentioned are as follows:
4700 has DVD-A playback, 3750 does not.
4700 has backlit remote, 3750 does not.
4700 has built-in DD decoding (and DTS?), 3750 does not.
And the other difference of course price. Just need comfirmation on this.
Also, both can play DVD-R, correct?

Justin,
Can't remember if it does DTS or only DD, but I'm quite certain there's NO backlit remote on the 4700.
Although the 4700 boasts having a few more features (read: DVD-A) than the 3750, I've actually heard of some people having problems with the audio features of the 4700.
Unless you're dying for DVD-A and don't have a DD/DTS receiver, I'd go for the 3750.
Just my .02

Just looked at Toshiba's site, looks like the 4700 has faster forward/rewind? Here's the urls:

thanks, yeah ive been looking at that page as well. ff/rew speeds arent all that of a major concern to me though. I just want to determine whether the price difference with 4700 over the 3750 is worth it.....
To be honest i dont know half of what the stuff listed means.. Which of the 2 playesr do you guys think will be better in the long run? (talking 2 maybe 3 years down the road).

From what I have gathered, the 3750 and 4700 uses an identical all-in-one Zoran Vladdis chipset. The 3750 has the power to do everything the 4700 does, it just doesn't have the "outlets". I have not verified this information to be 100% accurate (exact same chipset), but it did come from a highly reliable source. Unless you are dying to have DVD-A I would get the 3750.
