DVD player or Game system?

DVD player - standalone.
I'll be picking up a PS2 soon, and getting a progressive scan player when I get my widescreen. But I'll always use standalones for DVDs, and consoles for games.

Stand alone player that I've have for 3 years. Game systems should just play games IMO. I don't want to pay $100 for features like a DVD Player and Hard Drive that I wouldn't get much use out of. I got my GC for 199.99 and 2 mem cards for $30 and that's all I'll ever need.

Amen to that... One of my many arguments for the cube...it's a game console...it was made for one thing, and one thing only...gaming.

I have a dvd player, xbox, and PS2. I use my dvd player for watching movies at home. I take my PS2 on vacations with me to watch movies in the hotel room since it's small and I have every type of t.v. connection for it.

I use a standalone player in the living room. My roommate has an XBOX and so do I, so his is in the living room and I use mine in my room. Sometimes I use the one in my room to watch DVDs. I'll also take it with me when I go see my parents so that I can watch movies or play games while I'm there.(My parents don't have a DVD player).
I can understand the arguments of not wanting to play DVDs in a console, but the hard drive is used a whole lot more than people think. It's only going to be used more as games progress.

i have a PS2, dvd-rom, and a stand-alone player. I usually use my PS2 since it is in my bedroom and I like to watch movies in my room rather than downstairs in the living room. So I get good use out of the PS2 dvd player, so does my best friend since it's his only dvd player is his PS2.

Between my roommate and myself, we have four DVD players in our dorm room. One on each of our computers, my Sony DVP-S360 and my PS2. The only time I use my PS2 for DVDs is if I'm going home for a weekend or a short break(thanksgiving) but over Christmas break I'll bring the PS2, DVD player and my computer, as my parent's computer is wicked old.
