Reviews for Max Payne(X-Box/PS2)?

I've seen the PS2 version at stores, but according to the box it seems like a direct port. The X-Box version comes out tomorrow at least according to EB clerks. However, the only review I see is for the X-Box version over at IGNInsider, which I am not a member of.

Anyone have any reviews or bought the PS2 version?

Gamespot gave the ps2 version an 8 and the x-box version a 9.2.

The same person reviewed both games.

IGN gave the XBox version a 8.9. Insider only review though.

Thanks for the info. It seems that these are the differences:

PS2
-Lower resolution graphics
-long load times
-inability to skip cutscenes
-inablity to save wherever and whenever
-adds a motion blur effect ala' MGS2 to hide low framerate

X-Box
-Essentially the same as the PC
-minus the mod making tools
-retains the ability to save anywhere

That's pretty much it. X-Box is better than the PS2 version and nearly identical to the PC version. They both omit the comic book style fonts for the cutscenes and opt for standard captions.

Looks like the X-Box version for me.

I wish replayability was built into this game.
I can't wait to rent it.

I agree. The game is too short and does not have enough replay value. The game has no multiplayer mode, but finishing it will unlock new modes of play. Still it's not enough to warrant a purchase. I will definitley rent it ASAP.
