TRU Game Exchange From 3 for 2 Deal

I'm thinking about exchanging two of my games for two different games at TRU. Anyone know what's the best way to do this? Is TRU going to be picky about the exchange cuz of the deal? PS I ordered online. Any advice would be appreciated, thanks.

Well, they don't allow you to return merchandise purchased online to their store, so I don't see why they'd let you exchange it either.

If it is in the original package, just say it was a gift.

It seems that each TRU location has its own rules. One out of 3 TRUs that i called said i could exchange my unopened game which i got with the Buy 2 get 1 Free deal online. I told them it was a dupe i got on my birthday and didn't mention the deal. If u bought the games in the store and still have the receipt then u shouldn't have a problem as long as it's not opened.

Saying it was a gift DOES NOT WORK.

If it's a videogame -- even unopened. It does not matter. I sat there for 10 minutes "it was a gift" nothing. They wouldn't give me store credit. I didn't want cash, just to exchange it. SIGH.

Will Wal-Mart for sure let you exchange without a receipt? Best Buy said that after Christmas they'll allow returns without receipts. UGH.

Which location said they would do this?
I'll have to go there after X-Mas.

I've got one in my cell phone, unfortunately I don't know which I called. It was either the one in Culver City, or the one on Pico.

Thanks.
I hope this is true for all their locations.

Let's just say that I've done it several times over the past year and plan to do it again very soon now that my $15 copy of Extreme G3 has shipped.

Toys R Us sucks on returns now.

Video games unopened without receipt. No way. They changed their policy some time ago. At the very least you will need to talk with a manager. Maybe after Christmas they will loosen up a bit, but I doubt it. KMart is getting bad with return policy also. I had an extra copy of a dvd I wanted to exchange (unopened) and had to talk with a manager.

Best Buy has a "No Receipt Return For Store Credit" for December 26 thru January 26. Video games will need to be sealed though.

EXCELLENT!
As long as it's a policy.

a couple of noteworthy....uh, notes...I saw a sign hanging from one of their check out lanes that TRU.com returns go to Amazon.com and they gave an address, interesting. maybe you can return them to an amazon office. also walmart is getting very picky about their returns as well. now they track you with your driver's liscence if you do not have a reciept. one walmart a$$. (associate) told me that i have returned two things without a reciept and they only allow 3-4 within about a 6 month periods. that sucks.

a while back you could have done this,

Game 49.99 at TRU
on sale 32.99. at BB
so you price match at TRU, game title does'nt matter as your taking it back any way

now you take it back the next day to TRU without receipt,
you get back, 49.99 full price in GEOFFERY DOLLARS.
you just made 17.00

now you do this,
buy a 20.00 game from TRU w/geoffery dollars,
take it back to walmart which sells it for 50.00.

so they give you 50.00 for it, CASH
you've just made 30.00

so,
30.00 from walmart (cash)
+ 17.00 from TRU (geoffery dollars)
-------------
47.00

so now you you toss in 3.00 to your 47.00 and you just got yourself a 50.00 game for 3.00.
or you can start the cycle over again, i knew a kid that use to do this all the time.

this is why no one should take back anything without a receipt.

You don't get cash at Wal-mart, only store credit without a receipt.

Don't forget that BB only lets you return three (3) things without a receipt. FOREVER. I returned a game 2 years ago and one last year. I only have one return left with no receipt and i'm cut off for life.
