Is one of these worth 189 bucks?? Any idea on what exactly they refurbish??

Just better off gettin a new one at $250 from etronics??

Yes. Either way the receiver is well worth it. How much is the $60 difference to you? If you can afford it the new model would probably be a safer choice.

And I believe the receivers are refurbished by Onkyo.

Refurbished means if I remember correctly that there was either something wrong with the receiver when it came off the assembly line so they fixed it or something along that nature.

As for whether they are good or not, I have the Onkyo 484 that I got from ubid and I have not had a problem with it at all. Everything on it works great. I got mine for $144 and I'd say it was well worth the half price I paid for it.

Be sure to do a search for your product to find the lowest new price. Sometimes I have seen used products sell higher than new ones at UBID. Not smart!!!!
