Can the internet on dreamcast wear the system down?
If you connect to the internet via the dreamcast for browsing gaming etc can that wear the dreamcast down or make it lag or cause any future problems??

Uh...I don't see any reason why it would...I don't understand how using a system to surf or play online on say a Tuesday afternoon could affect it's play on say Thursday afternoon, if that's what you mean. There really is no way to lag a system like that unless it's hacked or something, and even then...

Actually, spongebobfan, it can. Tiny particles -- dubbed "i-trons" by those studying this phenomena -- can slowly irradiate the console over time, leading to sluggish graphics rendering, CD skipping, poor controller response, and even complete electrical failure. Curiously, however, this problem only seems to affect the Dreamcast; no other systems that are connected to the Internet are affected.
It's therefore recommended that you do not connect your Dreamcast to the Internet under any circumstances. Especially when playing Phantasy Star Online, which seems to magnify the problems.
