Whoaaa !!!! Man that was pretty funny and cool at the same time hehe. I never saw that commercial, the first one I ever saw was the one for Zelda 2 and I didn't even know what Nintendo was when I saw that back then .

The nerdy blond guy with the glasses looked like he was straight out of the Wonder Years hehe, especially when he pushes his glasses up because they're jamming to the rap lol . Good find. Video game commercials sure have evolved since then...

oh man that's great! Brings back so many memories. I have an old sears catalog from back then and looking at their games section had me at tears. There should be a retro gaming thread for stuff like this!

I would love to see those! Do you have some way of getting those online? I remember that commercial very well. I was playing an Atari 7800 at the time and was thinking "Nintendo, blah, that thing will never sell." Then I went to a friends house who was playing Top Gun and I think I bought one the next day. Oh the memories...That would have been what? 1988?

"Your parents help you hook it up."

I think if I had to wait for my parents to hook it up, I'd still be waiting to play Zelda.

"Lookit all the wires in there!"
"Can I watch all my videos on this one?"
"Why can't it play all your old Atari games. I guess it's not very good is it?"

Sheesh!

I've got several Atari 2600, Intellivision and Colecovision commercials circa 1981-82, I've also got a Beta tape from 1979 made for dealers showing off the new Intellivision system!

Does anyone know where ic an find more old commercials? I'd like to find the advertisement for Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars (great game), and see the old commercials I never saw.

Here's a website with some interesting reading. Sure wish I could see more commercials or ads though:
