I voted "Doolittle" - to me that's the one where it all "came together" for the Pixies and their sound, the later albums Black Francis crowded Kim Deal out of the picture too much and it's more of a one-man show. Can't beat "Monkey Gone To Heaven," probably my fave Pixies song.

Very tough, but Doolittle is the most consistently great.

I'm going with Dave Grohl, who called TROMPE LE MONDE his "favorite album ever".

Very tough choice between Doolittle and Trompe... but I voted Doolittle.

I must admit that Doolittle is the only Pixies album I own, so I guess it's my favorite.

I went with Surfer Rosa... but the CD I have is a combo, Surfer Rosa/Come one Pilgrim

So I would have voted that, but it wasn't a choice.

Come ON Pilgrim!!!! It's absolutely essential. "Trompe Le Monde" is by far my least favorite, and I can only honestly say I enjoy about half of "Bossanova". But those first three records/ep are out of sight.

"You are the son of incestuous union"

brilliant

I said I'd never choose but...
After literally 10000's of listens to each album......

It's Surfer rosa!!!! There's just something a little more special there.

I picked Doolittle because it's the one I always go back and listen to. I liked the Pixies' video for their cover of Head On from Trompe le Monde, but the cd version was too slow.

I agree it's tough, but I feel the same way about Bossanova.

Damn you benedict and your SEARCHING prowess. I went back five pages of Pixies threads. You dug this up from 2001!

Can't we have a new 'Best Pixies Album' poll every three years?!?
