DDD vs DVD Empire ?

After searching all over B&M's for Willy Wonka Widescreen I've decided to buy it online.

I haven't bought a dvd online in a while, mainly because they have been cheaper at Costco, BJ's and Best Buy. I use to buy them from Buy.com and Amazon mostly.

The price is the same for WW at both sites.
Both say that tehy have it in stock too.

Which one is more reliable and will deliver it faster and in good condition ?

DVD Empire uses media mail which takes longer.
Does DDD use media mail too ?

Thanks.

Both use Media Mail (unless you choose/spend for a different rate) and pack 'em about the same - slight edge if any to DVDE.

As far as speed of delivery, it's just going to depend on the Post Office and your geographical location in relation to where they ship from - Illinois for DDD and Pennsylvania for DVDE.

Thanks adboy151.

I'm going to go with DVD Empire since I live in NY.

Should I go for the upgrade to Priority mail for $3.40 or will I get it about the same time with media mail for $1.30 since I'm so close to PA ?

It's up you, I suppose if you're in a hurry or order more than one disc priority might be better - but even it has slowed down.

There are some Media Mail horror stories in older DDD threads in the Store forum, but I live in Indiana and my experence with Media Mail from DDD has been no more than four or five days from the time I receive the shipping notice. Media Mail via DVDE to Indiana has taken as long as a week.

So again it's up to you.

I live a couple of states away from DVD Empire and I have everything sent media mail.I receive everything within the time I would have it sent priority mail,90 % of the time.

Thanks dvd-4-life.
That's what I figured.
Is the packaging the same for both shipping methods ?

Media mail from DVD Empire comes in a sturdy plain white box, probably better that the priority box.

No problems with Media Mail delivering to Virginia from either DDD or DVDE. I do like the order records that DVDE provides, though...plus the ability to cancel an order without an email or phone call to CS...

Both places get high marks, however.
