Playstation 2 Memory Cards
Sorry if this has been discussed in the past, but I couldn't find it. Are there any brands of the memory cards for the PS2 that should be avoided and is there any reason to only use the Sony brand? Also, has anybody had very good experience with another particular brand? Thanks for any help.

Always go with first party memory cards. They tend to be by far the most reliable. Screwing around with save data is probably something you shouldn't cheapen out on.

i went with a sony on My first card, and i use it as my primary card. THey sold a madcatz blue mem card for 19.99 at walmart abotu amonth ago, i had a gift card, so i got it too. Havn't used it yet. waiting to run of of room on the SONY one.
I'd buy SONY. Getting first part stuff is always worth the extra 5-10 bucks.

ALWAYS go with first-party with memory cards. What most companies do is they backward-engineer the cards to get it to work, this works for the most part, but there are always faults. It is worth it to pay the extra fee ($5-10) to avoid losing valuable game information. Hope this helps

I always stick with the first-party memory cards myself, but man, $34.99 for a memory is kind of nuts. Luckily I was able to get 2 off of eBay for ~$20 a piece.
