Nintendo had 700,000 at launch, so the majority of hardcore gamers that have to buy new systems right away should already have theres. From waiting in line at wal-mart, I can also say, that at least around here, many parents have already picked up a GC for their kids for X-mas. Nintendo should keep a steady stream of GC's flowing into stores from now on, so I don't think it should be too tough to find one, or an X-box for that matter. They should be plentiful in the next couple of weeks, then probably sell out a week or two before X-mas and be tough to find until the beggining of next year. Just ask your local stores when they expect their next shipment, and you should be able to score one in a week or two.

They are all over the place and Nintendo intends to ship 100,000 per week from now until the end of the year. I don't think it will be a problem to track one down. Toys R Us B&M's seem to be flush with them. They got almost 200 at mine compared to 25 at the Target next door.

You will be able to get either console un-bundled fairly easily before Xmas. Heck, you can get a gamecube right now no problem.

Microsoft is shipping Xbox units every week to most major retailers. It will still be a bit of a hit or miss, but your chances of scoring one of these bad boys is easily twice as good as scoring a PS2 last year at this time. Also, almost all places, even the ones who originally bundled Xbox, have now un-bundled it. I know for a fact CC has un-bundled theirs (cause I bought mine there).

Good luck!

Not very good if you want to make a profit. You'd probably be best off returning them. Nintend had 700,000 at launch and will have a steady flow of them into stores from now on. I think its great to see people who bought systems just to try and sell them for a profit get screwed this time. No offense but I hate scalpers. They keep people who actually want systems, tickets, etc. from getting them at the normal price just because they are greedy and lazy and only care about making a quick buck. What goes around comes around.

I answered my own question... "not hard at all..."

I went to a (Super) Wal*Mart to pick up a few things, and asked someone in Electronics what time of the week they get their GC in...

She answered, "we got some in a half an hour ago." (They got 6 XBs and 4 GCs; when I got mine there were 2 GCs and 1 XB left)

So I had her ring one up for me (they had 4 black)...

Then I paraded down to Best Buy and picked up Super Monkey Ball, Rouge Squadron and Waverace (buy 3 games, get $20 off) along with a case and an orange controller.

So 4 days after launch I got one with no effort...

Instant in store... if they participate.

In my case, they had ads at the door, and a sign by the games.

Nintendo just announced that they were upping additional GC shipments in the U.S. before the end of the year too 600,000 from 400,000. They did this because they sold out of the 700,000 launch units already.

Info comes from cube.ign.com

A non-bundled GC was easy to find here in NYC. I had to look a little for the memory cards.
