CAN guitarist, Michael Karoli, dead--R.I.P.

The guitarist for one of my favorite bands, Kraut-prog-rockers CAN, has died far too young and unexpectedly. Cause unknown right now.

He was truly integral to their sound and had a special bond with vocalist Damo Suzuki. Especially from their 1968-1974 period I consider them to be one of the most influential and exciting groups ever.

My friends and I were just listening to the masterpiece of an album called "Tago Mago" last night after the Leonid Meteorite event.

For 'bandleader' Holger Czukay's post about it, read:

Thanks for posting this, Jepthah. He was an amazing guitarist and had a big influence on several of my favorites that came after him.

I was just recently introduced to CAN, and they are definitely one of the best rhythm bands ever. I could just sit and stare at a wall while listening to them lead my mind.

a underappreciated and little know band I was introduced to them in the early 90s their sound was truly unique and original. I think it is time to explore some of their material again. RIP
