Best Bands To See Live
I'd been to quite a few concerts, so I'll give my opinions of some bands to check out live. Post your experiences/opinions as well.
Fuel --- I've been to about 7 shows with them..and have yet to walk away dissappointed. They're amazing live, put a lot of energy into each performance. At one free show I went too, they played nearly everything from Sunburn and Something Like Human...incredible.
Everclear -- Yet to dissappoint. They get the audience really into every show. They also play a wide range from the 5 cds to treat the longtime fans.
Tool -- The experience that TOOL was is indescribable. If you're a fan, you have to see them.
U2 -- Really relaxing and fun shows to go to. I went to a NY show and it was touching what they did for the last one. U2 will always be great.
Nine Inch Nails -- would I possibly say otherwise?
Foo Fighters -- I can't believe how much fun these shows are. The Foo Fighters are hilarious. David Grohl can totally get the crowd into the show at any venue. During the FF/RHCP tour, I thought the Foos put on a FAR better show...
Opinions/Comments/Agree?

Nine Inch Nails always puts on a hell of a show.
Tori Amos is also great, it's amazing to see how her talent is not the result of endless hours of post-production and re-recording in the studio.
Live is very good, and sound exactly like the album, perhaps my only problems with them is that I haven't seen them in a venue I particularly care for and they are maybe too perfect.
I was a bit disappointed with The Cure, though, Robert Smith never seems to want to play any of the old stuff that really made the band popular. The last time I saw them, the one song that wasn't from the last two albums was "Fascination Street" -- and that was out of a two hour set.

SLAYER never dissapoint for all you headbangers in the audience tonight, but if you are a metal head I needn't tell you this.
MARTIN SEXTON brought tears to my eyes his live shows are so moving.
INCUBUS-pretty darn impressive live
JEAN LUC PONTY -for the jazz fans, after practically 40 years that man can still throw down live like a mother.

By far the best show I have ever seen was done by Bruce Springsteen and The E Street Band. . .perfect show, full of energy. Amazing.
For pyro and stuff, however, I would go with Marilyn Manson or KISS.

Dream Theater, hands down is my favorite band live.
Other excellent live bands (that I've seen):
Tool
NIN
Liquid Soul
Older ones that used to be great live:
Metallica
Iron Maiden
Queensryche

White Zombie used to put on a terrific show.
I'm sure Rob Zombie still does since he handled on their stage shows.

i worked at the arrowhead pond in Anaheim for a few years and based on sounding good live these are the bands that i can remember sounding good live
The Who-quaderphenia tour 96
No doubt(sound was top notch from all levels of the arena)
All of the country shows expect tracy lawrance
the cure(they actually played the forum and irvine meadows and they actually played 2.5 hours and irvine was almost 3 hours)
Nin
garbage(opening for the pumpkins)
tori amos
Pearl Jam(they did't play there but they played the forum and blockbuster and they have good sound..good long shows and inexpensive ticket prices)
......................................................
really bad live
rem(there sound system was voted worst ever by most everyone at the pond)
new edition(people were exiting the arena in droves 3/4 into show..bobby brown is not a nice guy)
Smashing pumpkins(that singer is not to nice either)
all the slow jam shows
GOO GOO DOLLS (these guys drank more than any act we have ever seen..and they had the most trashed dressing room we've ever seen adn when they sound checked they were so drunk that the singer could barley sing..and they were Third on the bill.)
green day(bad sound system)
blink182(bad sound system poor show)

KISS will rock thy world. Many claim to give 110%. KISS do. They've never claimed to be anything more than entertainers, and that's what they do best.
Rush put on an excellent show. Hopefully, they will continue their "Evening with Rush" concerts next time around, as the somehow have the knack for picking terrible opening acts.

Chemical Brothers
Orbital
Mogwai
Super Furry Animals
Mercury Rev
Bjorn Again
Ash
Lo Fidelity Allstars
Blur - pre 1997 album material
Wannadies - Sweden's answer to the Pixies
Muse
Pulp/Travis - I love the inbetween song banter that Jarvis and Fran talk about, very amusing.
Moby - on the Big Top festival - pre "Play"
Symposium - (sniff, sniff... never recovered since their breakup)
I really really really want to see the Flaming Lips in concert, heard they are quite unique and epic sounding.

a small one. Both great shows however,
might I add, do NOT be in the front row
for a Manson show. I learned my
lesson right quick and was in the
blacony seats the second show.

most of my fav performers aren't around anymore, pixies, faith no more, i'm not sure if the melvins are still touring. mr. bungle puts on good shows, crash worship is THE best live show i've ever seen.
