1. Platforming- nothing beats a good Mario/Sonic/Banjo game IMO.

2. Adventure- exploration and story of RPG's, but you get to control you character during fights, instead of clicking things in a menu.

3. Sports- huge sports fan in real life, translates to interest in the games.

4. Fighting- great way to take out aggresion

5. RPG's- not a huge fan of these anymore as it's tough to devote 40+ hours to a game and I get bored of just clicking "fight," but the storyline in a good RPG is better than that of any other genre.

How could you leave out strategy games? That genre dominates one major platform (PC/MAC) and even if we just restrict ourselves to consoles, there were some pretty decent strategy games for Genesis/SNES through PS2.

Anyway, I voted other, because I spend most of my time playing Civilization and RTS games (i.e. Starcraft).

too bad we can only specify our #1.

RPG's are nearly equal to FPS's for me. Sports are the very bottom rung (except for racing).

Sports! I only like FPSs on computers, not consoles.

My favorite genre would have to be Action/Adventure games.

When I started playing PC games I fell in love with first person shooters like Soldier of Fortune.
