you have to wonder

what would have happened, if the ump hadnt blown the call on Bautista at home when he slid in safe and was called out

that limited the runs scored in that inning..

it could have been a blow out, if it wasnt for that call

This guy was right on :

think there is a lot of tension here because arizona is choking real bad. the yankees are obviously a better team, they play when the pressure is on, thats why they will win tonight. Johnson is pitching down 3-2 and will fold under pressure. Pettite might not have the best era, but he is better under pressure, unlike the arizona pitchers, now that the yanks have the advantage things will begin to change for arizona. its not the yankees fault arizona chokes, but it does show they are the better team. no matter who you blame it on, brenly, kim, whoever, they are all excuses. these were people you guys were prasing up until 3 or 4 days ago. arizona will lose tonight.

Actually I feel sorry for him - he's not bad at all and had two very very very "unlucky" games.. his rep will be tarnished for a looong time.

His rep is the least of his problems. Doesn't matter what people may think, if you can prove them wrong. But those two games took a giant dump on his psyche.

It's bad that we're sitting around thinking "Kim sucks." It's worse that he's probably doing the same thing. This isn't going to be easy to recover from.

Nah, plenty have sung these in the past and not screwed them up. The problem is, so many people try to do it differently, to make it "their own." A perfect example was Whitney Houston's version of the Star Spangled Banner. Everybody loved it, and she just sang the song without all the extraneous BS. (It's still the only thing I can listen to her sing.)

I think the look on Joe Torre's face after NY, NY was played on the PA system tonight will last me a life time. Anytime I get bummed or feel blue, I'll have that look. :)

The "New York, New York" song was Colangelo, the owner's idea to get back at the Yanks. rotfl He said he was tired of hearing that song in NY.

It was hilarious when I heard that song come on with the game over. rotfl

That was a slap in the face to the Yanks and it was great. Torre looked pissed (but he always looks pissed). :lol:rotfl:lol:

still going to be a great game, that can go either way.. these past 6 games mean nothing now

Clemens is going to bat?? Oh boy. Schilling should give him something he can hit so he can injure himself trying to run the bases. If Clemens beans anyone... lookout.

I also think that the "New York, New York" thing might give New York a great deal of motivation, and maybe hurt Dbacks, they should have waited till tonight after the game.

You were "ready" last evening. Remember how Johnson was going to fold under pressure, and the statement as to how much better a "pressure pitcher" Pettit was?

When they played New York, New York in Arizona ... that felt wrong. They were clearly taunting the Yankees, right in their faces.

But then, the Yankees did that everytime they won at home so they deserved a little in their faces.
