A sort by fucntion?
Would it be possible to arrange the threads by Author, last poster, # of replies, or name of thread rather than date? Or at least make it possible to do this in a search. I think that would be really groovy baby.

You've been able to do that here for quite some time. Once you're in a forum, click on 'Thread', 'Thread Starter', 'Replies', 'Views', or 'Last Post' to sort.
The search page includes a dropdown where you can select how you want your results to be sorted.
