Im looking into purchasing new front and surround speakers. I'm currently looking at the Paradigm Mini Monitors to match my Paradigm CC-370 Center. Just a couple of questions.
Is a 6.5" mid driver enough for a full sounding setup?
I find my friend's Take 5 sat/sub setup a little weak in the mid department. I would go to floor standing but cant afford it room/money?
Thx

If you want to consider floor standing speakers at all, ubid.com is having a great sale on JBL S312 speakers. I bought a pair and they are awesome. they sound great and are in perfect condition. I guess harman Kardon, who is part of JBL, is selling their stock of these, cause that's who they were from. I think they're great. Get a pair for just under $400, which includes shipping.

as long as you have a sub to make up the difference, 6.5 should be fine and give you good mids. At least that's been my experience.

I don't know what your price range is, but you might want to look at the Paradigm Reference Studio 20's. They are fairly small speakers physically, but sound outstanding. When it comes time for me to upgrade, I'm seriously considering them.

I have the 6" or 6.5" in my front speakers, PSB Alpha B's. They sound excellent, and my 10" JBL sub really sucks up the bass and spits it out.
I need another set of the Alpha B's for the rear now.
