need adventure game recommendation
My wife likes games like Myst, and she has played all 3 myst riven and exile, she also played beyond atlantis.
I am looking for other suggestions.
No shootemup games though, she dislikes them, just some good adventure puzzle solving games.
Thanks in advance

For PC my favorite adventure/puzzle games are the Monkey Island series(the newest is Escape from Monkey Island). There are plenty of puzzles and the dialogue kept me laughing the whole way through, I'm sure your wife would like that. Grim Fandango (by the same company) is excellent too, great story, music, and many puzzles!
Not sure what other systems you have but if you have PS2 I highly recommend ICO, there's no way your wife could not like the image of two kids holding hands running through a castle !!

Need to recommend "The Longest Journey".
Very long winded -- tons of very well voiced dialog (and I do mean 1. There's a LOT of it, and 2. it's well acted).
Pretty good story as well, and some pretty tough puzzles. Not being much of an adventure fan myself, I had to use some walkthrough guides, but i expect if she's beaten Myst, she can probably take TLJ on without too many problems.

It's a change from the adventure myst-type games, but I also dislike shooters and find myself drawn to games like Age of Empires II and Zeus/Poseidon. Might also try Black and White.

My recommendations are similar to No Use For A Name's:
Gabriel Knight: Blood of the Sacred, Blood of the Damned
Curse of the Monkey Island
The Longest Journey
The Blackstone Chronicles
Don't get Grim Fandango or Eascape from Monkey Island if you don't fancy using joysticks - both of those games play horribly on keyboards.

Dreamcatcher Games does the Myst thing really well if that's what she likes... Games like Cameron Files, Schizm the Mysterious Journey, Beyond Atlantis 2, Crystal Key, In Cold Blood, Necronomicon, Riddle of the Sphinx, Traitors Gate etc etc... I'm into FPS games, but I've played a few Dreamcatcher games for a few minutes and I can tell you that they are well done. I like adventure games too so among my favorites, I'd also suggest getting Grim Fandango, Phantasmagoria, Day of the Tentacle, Full Throttle, Dig, Curse of Monkey Island, and Leisure Suit Larry 7. My girlfriend likes The Sims and those puzzle solving games, so maybe try the Sims too.

Well I consider the Zelda series to be the best Adventure game ever, but they're nothing like Myst. I don't play PC games so I can't make any reccomendations their. If you have an NES, SNES, Game Boy, Game Boy Color, Game boy Advance, or Nintendo 64, I'd reccomend trying some of the Zelda games.
Final Fantasy Adventure on the Game boy is another good one, as is Illusion of Gaia on SNES.

I agree with all of the LucasArts recommendations (Monkey Island Series, Grim Fandango), but like someone said earlier, the newer installments are pretty much gampad only games. If you can find some older games, I would recommend Sam & Max Hit the Road, Full Throttle, and Day of the Tenticle. Look for one of the LucasArts Classic packs (Zach McCracken Ruled in the C64 days), you might still be able to get it through their site.
I liked Sanitarium alot also.
Another series you might want to check out is the Zork games. I remember the latest, Zork Nemisis, being a pretty good game.
The 7th Guest and the 11th Hour are also two very good Myst-type puzzle games.
There used to be SO many of these great PC Adventure games out there, Kings Quest series, Police Quest, Leisure Suit Larrys. Ahh..the good old days. Do any of you remember that game Harvester, pretty twisted game for its day.

I don't play many adventure/puzzle games, but I really liked the Tex Murphy Games:
Under a Killing Moon
Overseer
Pandora Directive
Another one I can't remember ... "Martian something".
For overall glut of titles, I think adventure games wins the race. Trouble there is you get so many duds, myst clones, and others that end up just -- boring. Like 11th Hour -- the puzzles were nice and difficult, but I don't recall feeling like the puzzles had anything to do with a story.
Anyway, good luck in your search. Grim Fandango is highly recommended by me and others.
