As I understand it, you can't use Japanese light guns on North American Dreamcasts and vice versa. Is there any way to get around this? Will the "bootdisk" stuff available online fix this problem?

And does anyone know if this lockout is based only on the interaction btwn the gun and the system? ie, it doesn't matter what country your software is from.

The only game the Jap. Light Guns work on is the import of Virtua Cop 2.

You can't use the guns because the software has been coded differently. There's no way around it. It's a software issue and not a hardware issue.

Virtua Cop 2 on the Smash pack works with the Japanese guns, but thats it. I had to import House of the Dead 2 and I guess I will have to import Confidential Mission as well.
