[insert name here] threads

Lately there has been A LOT of threads in "Other" with just a personal message to someone which just as well could have been emailed.

The contents are more often than not, only of any relevance to
the poster and the receiver.

To be honest - they are getting pretty annoying - I didnt even look twice when it was once in a while, but we are talking volumes here...

"Yo Deftones, where you at? "
http://www.dvdtalk.com/forum/showthr...hreadid=143536

"mllefoo"
http://www.dvdtalk.com/forum/showthr...hreadid=143500

"Jules, my Little Boopkin"
http://www.dvdtalk.com/forum/showthr...hreadid=143525

"Randyc!"
http://www.dvdtalk.com/forum/showthr...hreadid=143438

"Hey ChiTownAbs.... "
http://www.dvdtalk.com/forum/showthr...hreadid=143392

"Yo, ViewAskewbian... "
http://www.dvdtalk.com/forum/showthr...hreadid=142898

"Hey mikehunt... "
http://www.dvdtalk.com/forum/showthr...hreadid=142885

"Hey Bushdog... "
http://www.dvdtalk.com/forum/showthr...hreadid=142447

"Sorry, Bushdog"
http://www.dvdtalk.com/forum/showthr...hlight=bushdog

"Bushdog-"
http://www.dvdtalk.com/forum/showthr...hlight=bushdog

"Bushdog, part II"
http://www.dvdtalk.com/forum/showthr...hlight=bushdog

"Bushdog..."
http://www.dvdtalk.com/forum/showthr...hlight=bushdog

"Hey Bushdog..."
http://www.dvdtalk.com/forum/showthr...hlight=bushdog

I guess there is not policy against it, but thought I'd be annoyed here instead of the forum.

Padding at least was fun for everyone

You two are just jealous that no one loves you.

It can get a little silly sometimes. I had one for someone once and I deleted it after I got there attention.

These things tend to come and go.

Part of what we try to do is to create a sense of community on the forums, and this is especially evident in the Other forum. For the regulars, this is part of the fun.

However, like anything else, it can be over done, and I'm sure that it will subside quickly from this point on. Thanks for understanding.

From what I understand, this was a server demand problem, and really doubt that it will be turned on in the near future. Sorry.

I do consider myself a regular and I am sure I have done one of two of them during my years here - my point is just that its a bit over the top at the moment thats all

I've heard from a couple of other forum mods that things of this nature are ok once in awhile. However, there is a point where this turns into someones personal "playground" and that is to be strongly avoided. Unless, things have changed as of late.

Sounds like someone is jealous.

I believe all of the threads had different starters.

They are getting annoying. It seems to me it's almost like, "hey, maybe mine will be the straw that breaks the camel's back".

I don't mind them. You have way to much time on your hands to compile that list.
