First Look: Madden 2002 GBA
from cube.ign.com:

EA Sports is producing a Game Boy Advance version of its football line. Check out the first screens.

September 12, 2001

EA Sports has confirmed to us that the company is indeed working on a Game Boy Advance version of Madden NFL 2002, the latest title in the Madden football series. The GBA version is being handled by Tiburon, the development team in charge of developing the entire Madden series for Electronic Arts.
Though the company did not have all the features of the Game Boy Advance version available by the time we published today, we did get our hands on the first screenshots of the game in action. The screenshots show that the Game Boy Advance version will be very similar in design to the last Madden title to ship for the Super NES system. The game will, at the very least, feature hardware scaling of the field and players to simulate a 3D perspective on the GBA screen. Hopefully, the final version will utilize the system's link cable for multiplayer gaming. And no word on if the game will feature a battery to save a season in progress.

We'll have more details on the Game Boy Advance version of Madden NFL 2002 as it moves deeper into development. The company will also release a Game Boy Color version of the game later this month. The GBA version will be released in November.

Most GBA games look that good or better. It is slightly more powerful than the SNES, which IMO was the best 2d system of all time.

Wow, this is a nice throwback to the games I grew up on. Looks like the great Madden games from the Genesis and SNES days.
