I've not ordered since Christmas (been low on cash) and I was wondering something...

All last year when I ordered, I'd get my DVDs shipped up to my door by Purolater. Very cool. This was not only nice to have them at my door, but also nice because I would save on customs fees. Customs fees not only add a 5 dollar plus 7% charge on my items, they also make it so I have to go down to my post office and pick them up.

Since amazon's prices are a little higher then elsewhere, this was really the only reason I would get stuff from them....

Are they still doing this?

Hmmmm, I think my last order was shipped via ground... I paid no customs (the order was free with gc's) and if I recall correctly, it was placed in my mailbox and not delivered by Purolator.

Also, its 5$ handling and that 7% seems to be added to the total price including shipping when it's already converted to Canadian currency since I usually had to pay around 9$ (5$ + 4$) when I picked up a 20$ US DVD at the post office.

I've got quite a few DVD orders from Amazon in the last few months ..They come by Canada Post Express post now ....Never any Customs fees (all orders have been less than $40.00 US) & they get delivered right to the door ..sometimes Mailman & sometimes a White Van.
