Denon AVR-681 Retailer?

Anyone know of a chain store (Best Buy, etc..) that sells these recievers?? I am leery of buying it on-line or at a mom&pop shop.

None of major chains carry Denon.

Why won't you buy from a smaller A/V shop? They will spend more time with a customer and typically give you much better service before and after a sale. Some of small shops around here have been around for 25-50 years so I'm not worried about them going out of business.

Here is my problem:

I bought the receiver from UBID and every time I turn the volume up, it switches to tape input and you can never hear anything at all on this thing. I wanted to find a major chain that would send it back to the manufacturer. Tweeter carries Denon, but not my model.

I bought a 1601 (same as 681, I think) from ubid for like $210 delivered. It works great, like everything else I've bought from them. From what I've been reading here lately, I'm due for a bad experience with them, though.

The one small problem I've ever had was on a cd-r, which they just took back. Have you contacted them about it?

I think Sears sells this one. I KNOW they sell Denon receivers, just not sure of the model #'s.
