Paramount's been slow to send this title, but I've been told it'll go out to me on Monday. That means I won't have it until post-street, but apparently it really IS coming out 8/14. Anyway, they say they've had some delays getting screeners, so that's probably why no one's reviewed it yet...

I managed to pick up copy of this at my local retailer. I believe they put it out early. The transfer is great! Also are some extras like a George Stevens jr. commentary, a documentary, and a section where different directors/producers/etc. comment on Mr. Stevens. If you love this movie then don't hesitate to buy it!
I'm very pleased to have this disc added to my collection.

I think this is one of the best, most overlooked films on the AFI Top 100 List. Just a great movie with great performances. I was quite suprised at how much I liked it. You can see the similarities to films like Dead Man Walking and Dancer in the Dark.

I was very excited when I found out that this was being released. A wonderful but under appreciated film. It is on my long list of movies to buy. Of course it is towards the top of this list.

Does this movie remind anyone else of "The Talented Mr. Ripley"?

Possible Spoilers:

I saw "A Place in the Sun" for the first time earlier this year and I immediately saw a lot of parallels to Ripley: a poor man trying to fit in to rich society, a daylight murder in a sail boat, and also with both films I found myself hoping the murderer wouldn't be caught. I mean who wouldn't want to be married to Elizabeth Taylor instead of stuck with Shelley Winters?
