Reviews of scifi DVDs wanted

I've been posting here for a couple months now and I'm still not sure if this should be here or DVD talk, anyways it's inspired by the Logan's Run thread here.

That thread in question got me thinking, I'd like to see some more "classic" sci fi movies on my DVD player. Stuff like Logan's Run, Forbidden Planet, the first Alien. I've got the Planet of the Apes movies, and most of the Star Trek stuff, so can anyone recommend any more such old school scifi films on DVD? And do give a few words about the DVD presentation, my criteria are simple, letterboxed if needed, and subtitles really help my bad hearing.

thanks in advance

A few Sci-Fi DVD Must Haves

2001: A Space Odyssey (Newest edition, just released)
Blade Runner (Director's Cut)
Dark City
Contact
Dune (1984 David Lynch version)
Existenz (Canadian version)
Planet of the Apes series
X-Men
Lathe of Heaven
The Matrix
Superman
Robocop (Criterion)
and the list goes on...

Most of these come with extras and are, of course, OAR and subtitled.

Re: A few Sci-Fi DVD Must Haves

I should update my DVD list on my home page so I can reference it, I have quite a few of these already. What I'm really looking for is "old" scifi.

I do have the following:

2001: A Space Odyssey
Blade Runner (Director's Cut)
Contact
Dune (1984 David Lynch version)
Planet of the Apes series
X-Men
The Matrix
thanks for the suggestions on the others

A couple that haven't been mentioned:

Solaris - great 2-disc set from Ruscico. One of my favorite releases of the summer.

La Jetée - Chris Marker's brilliant short film (~30 mins) can be found on the Short 2 DVD (fka Short Cinema Journal-vol. 2).

I'm surprised nobody has mentioned The Fifth Element...
Great picture quality... visually that is. And the movie wasn't that bad...
