OK, I'm not the one that broke the news, but here's a link to the thread where I first saw it http://pub5.ezboard.com/fhongkongdvd...icID=610.topic
I seriously doubt the region 1 will be as good.

So aside from a region free player, how are those of us in an NTSC country supposed to play these PAL dvds? Do I need a multiformat TV set? Can I use my Creative PC DVD DXR2 to output to an NTSC TV? Or do I have to watch it on a monitor? I seriously doubt the US dvd of this movie will have all these extras, with USA Films as the distributor..

watching R2 PAL dvds in the US

Is it possible? I have a Pioneer 525 and a Sony 27" WEGA FS12 TV, and I'm pretty sure that's not going to work. I also have a Creative DXR2 PC DVD Encore that can play R2 dvds, but I don't know if it can convert PAL->NTSC.

Can anyone fill me in on what kind of setup and/or hardware I need to play a R2 PAL dvd? This In the Mood for Love announcement makes my mouth water like never before!!!

you need...

Either a DVD-Rom that plays all region discs so you can watch it on your computer, or if your computer is near your home theater setup, you can get a Hollywood Plus card for your computer, which will allow you to play R2 DVDs through your computer on your TV, via an SVHS cable. The only other options are quite expensive; a multiformat TV, or a PAL-NTSC converter.
