I hear this puppy has the best picture of the bunch? Is this true?

I know nothing about this TV and not much about HDTV's. But, I when I hear the company "Zenith", I think of "WalMart Crap".

Have you checked out HDTV's by Mitsubishi, Pioneer, and Toshiba?

The two best are:

1. Pioneer Elite series
2. Mitsubishi's Diamond series

...in that order! I had to settle for the Mitsu (I love it!) since the Pioneer is much pricier!

Check out Home Theater Spot for further info:

As well, check out http://www.Audioreview.com once you find a model that you like...

Good luck!

It may be. It has 9" tubes, doesn't it? Therefore it is one of the only sets that can truly display HDTV resolution.
But it may depend on your purposes. I don't know how good the tuner, line doubler, or "stretch" modes are.

See if you can find a Loewes (pronounced luu-ves, of course) to view. They are hand assembled in Germany, and the picture is absolutely perfect. It looks like a very high grade photo. No dots, no lines, no bleed, just perfect picture and color.

The Zenith has a great picture but for about $3500 less you can get the Toshiba 65H80! Best bang-for-the-buck 16X9 widescreen TV but a HDTV decoder will cost you an additional $600 or more. Still way cheaper than the Zenith and the the support forums for calibration are unbeatable!
