not that I would recommend you do this, but if you want a dish there's ways to pirate the signal if you search around. I'd just wait and get the cable myself. It's cheaper and easier.

If you are a sports fan, Direct TV is a must.

Cable is not cheaper.

for the service that I have on my digital cable, direct TV would be about 4 bucks a month more, and would have less channels.

I guess it depends on your cable service and if you want true digital or not...Our cable would cost about $39.99 for basic service DTV would be $29.99 and give us about 10 more channels...Or you can, like you said, pirate the box and get 900 channels for nothing...but that would be wrong http://www.ameritech.net/users/dvdtalk/shifty.gif

I prefer DirecTV myself, but I like the sports availability.

From what I understand, if you're wanting to hack, Dish network is cheaper and easier. You can read for yourself here:

Both Dish and DTV look good...money wise I think you can get a TiVo/Dish net set up for free with a subscription of $50-ish a month but I am not sure...They do not have the NFL Season Pass thingy though nor do they have the choice of gettin all the regional Fox Sports Nets...

Not really easier but I won't go to details cause it is illegal and bad....very very bad.

It doesn't matter which you pick because it'll probably change soon anyway. Dish and Murdoch are both trying to buy DirecTV. What does this mean for price/channels? Who knows, but it'll be something different.
