I remember not liking this movie when I saw it in the theatre. It was rather bleak for a Christmas movie. Its about a cold hearted business man who dosen't care about the holiday season or giving his employees time off to enjoy it. He is a workaholic and lives the jet-set life style. He somehow gets transported back to the woman that he was supposed to marry in the first place. She is now living in a blue collar setting and has two kids. The movie deals with his reaction to not having his lavish materialistic lifestyle and a dead end job selling tires. He also has to play a "family man" to the wife and kids. Its a script that has been done many times before and better. Nothing original here. You may want to rent it first.

Here's an advance review that's really positive. I'm thinking of picking up this disc, as July is a pretty slow month for me (Die Hard Trilogy, 13 Days).

DVD Review: Family Man

You can find my review at the link above. I found some faults with the film, but overall, I was pleasantly suprised at how much I enjoyed most of it.

The DVD is a really strong effort from Universal, stuffing the disc with tons of features and strong audio/video quality.

This movie is pleasant enough, but it is in no way a movie that calls for repeat viewings. Okay, maybe that gal with the hot bod does, but that's it. It's like It's a Wonderful Life, but with unfocussed or mediocre drama and acting.

I really enjoyed this movie. I didn't expect to at all. It's kind of predictable, I suppose, but the movie literally made me feel good as I left the theatre. My friend was the one who wanted to go and I had just wanted to accompany her, but I'm definitely glad I saw this. I think I'll pick up the DVD.
