BTW: Here's the DVDTalk referral link at Amazon ... Mods please correct me if I'm wrong ... http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/B00005J536/o/qid%3D992826112/sr%3D2-1/ref%3Ddvdtalk/102-3703666-6387308

Everyone that I know who owns PS2 is with me in their anticipation for this game. The game's release date is officially Friday I believe, but Best Buy has the game in on Thursday. So is everyone excited?!!?

Nope. I'm waiting for NBA Street, myself.

I am also waiting for NBA Street. I have already bought it from EA (they have a 25% discount on ALL titles at their on-line store until June 26th). Console Domain has a review of NBA Street and they gave it a pretty glowing review. And since EA BIG made SSX, I am willing to bet NBA Street will be great as well.

I will most likely get Twisted Metal: Black, but I will wait for reviews. I have heard the game is extremely difficult, which really turns me off. The game (and NBA Street) ship on Tuesday and should be in EB stores on Wednesday. Best Buy and Target are selling it on Thursday (I can't believe Target is selling this game, goes against their family-orientatedness). You Amazonians will probably be waiting a bit while other people have it. I am going to wait for reviews though.

The true question you should be asking is who isn't going to get Gran Turismo 3 A-Spec next month? Only people who don't like driving games would say no to that game I think. 5 stars from Next Gen, 10/10 from PSM...seems like an easy buy to me. Did you also hear that Sony will be selling PS2s ONLY with GT3 for a while for $329.99? You supposedly won't be able to get stand-alone PS2s for a while from what I understand.

I for one will not be buying Gran Turismo 3. Driving simulators bore the living hell out of me. I got rid of GT2 about 5 days after buying it. I'll stick with Ridge Racer V for now. As for Twisted Metal: Black, i'll most likely buy it but I will probably wait for a few reviews first.

I'm foaming at the mouth to get it, myself. Twisted Metal 2 is by far my favorite game ever, and I'm hoping that this game will cancel out the heaping piles of monkey dung that were TM 3 and 4.

Bah! I'll be playing Sonic Adventure 2 this week. Long live Dreamcast! (I have a PS2 also, I just think the novelty of Twisted Metal wore off in the first game)

I played it at e3 this game is awesome. twisted metal 3 sucked but twisted metal 2 was my all time favorite PS1 game. Count me in for Twisted metal black.

Yes, I forgot about Sonic Adventure 2, which also comes out the same day as Black and NBA Street. That will most likely be a birthday gift for me though. I'm still hooked on Crazy Taxi 2 and I don't need a ton of new games to be splitting up my time.

gt3 is definatley the game to get... i'm gonna wait for tm: black, because the last one just sucked... I'm too busy with tony hawk for my gba...

GT A-Spec and Sonic are next on my list. I have come to learn not to bash a system. It's all about the games and, right now DC has the best games. But, there are some good PS2 games coming out.

TM3 and TM4 SUCKED. But the difference is TM Black is being made by the creators of the first two.

Honestly, I know GT3 is going to be a great racing game. But I just don't enjoy realistic racing games for a very long time. I played GT2 for about a week, maybe two. NBA Street is another I'm looking forward to. Didn't know that was out this week though!

It now says "Shipped" for NBA Street although I can't do any tracking yet. So it must be coming out this week.

Won't touch it. Have always hated that series. It's rather pointless IMO.

Yeah, I just plainly forgot that was coming out. At Amazon, its listed as the same release date as TM: Black (June 22).

BTW, does anyone know where can I find a review? Probably going to get it regardless, but just curious ...

There's a link to a review. Sounds pretty good to me. I'll have to pick it up this week.

I hope that "sonyweb.com" is not owned by Sony. As you are probably aware, Sony makes up fake reviewers to give positive reviews on their products. Their cover was broken just a few weeks ago with a recent movie that was released and very positively reviewed by Sony employee acting as a reviewer for a newspaper. Now the flood gates are opening with accounts of fraudulent reviews dating back many years. Just today it was reported on my local news that Sony planted fraudulent reviews on the movie "The Patriot" when it was released.

What makes me question the review is that the game "Twisted Metal Black" is published by Sony Computer Entertainment for a game system made by Sony and reviewed on a site called "sonyweb.com."

I'm confident, however, that the game will be great, but I think I will look for a more objective source for information about it.

Gamespot has a review up, it gave it a 9.5 out of 10. I expect IGN PS2 to have a review up tonight or tomorrow. Here is the link to the Gamespot review:

As for SonyWeb, it looks like it is from a site called GamersWeb that has many different websites like GameSpy has (there's Nintendo, Sega, etc.).

Looks like I will have to go get it now :).

Wow, thanks AgtFox and El Kabong! Both reviews were excellent. Looks like this game is no disappointment. I didn't read one negative thing in that Gamespot review. My desire for this game just went up even further. Definitely going to pick it up.

Just took a quick look and what do you know ...

:D

One thing I just noticed is this game is 4P! Too bad the PS1 multitap isn't functional for PS2. :( Just have to get that too.

Hehehe...was just about to post that :). Oh well.

I have the PS2 multi-tap, and it doesn't work with all the games. It works with all the sports games- NHL, FIFA, NBA- but wouldn't work with Quake 3, and 2 others- I forget right now. Hopefully it will work with this.

IGN PS2 gave NBA Street a 9.3, calling it revolutionary. Here is the link:

I also found out that the SonyWeb people live in my area. What a small world.

Oh great. Another one I want. Thats about 4. Damn, not sure if this is good or not. Well, TM Black first. Then gonna have to see about Red Faction, NBA street, and Dark Cloud.

I should have TMB, NBA Street and Sonic Adventure 2 by the end of the day. I went into EB yesterday and sold a bunch of movies/games to them to prepay for TMB, SA2 and FF Chronicles, now all my games I want are paid for in advance. Knowing my luck I won't get to any of them tonight or I would give you my impressions of them...who knows, maybe it will happen.

I'll rent it first and then decide.

got my copy of Twisted Metal: Black last night, and man is it sweet. I played countless hours of TM2 back in the psx days, so I am totally relieved to see this game return to what it should be.

I love the animated menus ... all games should be doing this!

MWoody

Between those wicked cinematics and the incredible menu, I'm tempted to never bother starting the game, and just select my character over and over and over... ;)

Seriously, though, excellent game. Very difficult, and with a control scheme that's a bit odd, but ultimately loads of fun and lots of replay/multiplayer/secrets to enjoy.

I had my NBA Street preordered, and it showed up last night!!! it is so sweet. It's like a good nba game, with defence, and the more "tricks" you do while dunking, the faster your Meter goes up, allowing the
"gamebreaker" shot, that is just simply the sickest thing you have everseen in a sports game.... My only gripe is the fact that replays come on in the middle of the game, momentarily stopping the action...i haven't figured out how to turn them off yet.. GO BUY IT NOW!!!!
