It was the one buy.com was offering with free shipping last weekend. It was remote hackable right out of the box, it had the 3.3 firmware. I mainly got it for mp3s, and occasional taping with the Macrovision turned off. I don't have any non-region 1 DVDs, so I haven't tried that yet. I was surprised at how good the mp3s sounded through my stereo. It wasn't as good as CD, but it was close. I rip mine at 192, maybe higher would sound better, but it sounds fine to me. If anyone has any questions about it, I'll try to answer.
