i'm was thinking of getting a new 36" wega t.v. within the next week

and i came across this t.v.

a digital widescreen crt flat screen t.v.

http://www.samsungusa.com/images/prod/product/tsk3092wf_full.jpg

heres a link from samsung:
TSK3092WF
(http://www.samsungusa.com/cgi-bin/nabc/prod/audio_video/prod_av_detail.jsp?BV_SessionID=@@@@0029372745.0990813541@@@@&BV_EngineID=iallcjlfiehbedicfcffcgfm.
0&prod_id=TSK3092WF%2fXAA&category=%2fAudio_Video%2fTV%2fDynaFlat+EDTV)

Datavis.com is selling this for $1299 plus $150 shipping.
MSRP $2000

the thing i like most about this t.v. is the 16:9 crt tube screen.

should i go for it?
OR should i just go with a 36" sony wega,
i can get a refurbished 36fv16 locally at around $1200 plus tax

decisions...decisions..desicions.... ???

I have the similar TSK2790 and I love it. I paid $1000 for it in Feb. It supposedly has lower quality digital filter than the TSK##92, but nothing to complain about. The picture is really clear with my Pioneer DVC-603 'progressive scan'.

Samsung sounds good. About freaking time they came out with reasonably priced wide screen tubes. Saw a 38" version by RCA in BB the other day for $2999. Have a BIG problem giving RCA that much money for something that doesn't include a dinner with Heather Locklear.

I just put a Toshiba 40" 16:9 i a friends house as apart of a HT set-up. Just the perfect size for his room. Too big of a set is not a good thing. Another friend put a 65" Hitachi 16:9 in a room where a 50" or less would have been optimum. It fatigues me to watch a movie on it as it is too close to the the seating area.

Got mine for $1699 back in January. The MSRP was $2199. It's discontinued. $1299 is a pretty good deal. HDTV and DVD's look fantastic. It has nice features. Definitely a best bang for buck. It has a Toshiba tube, i.e. DynaFlat. PureFlat, RealFlat, etc. the tubes that have the word "Flat" in it are Toshiba tubes. Check out my review in audioreview.com.

I saw it at Costco for the same $1299 price. You might want to check it out if you decide to get it to save on shipping! :D Take note that this is not a High Definition TV and cannot support 1080i or 720p.

If your purpose is to watch DVDs then this TV is nonpareil. Remember that HDTV-capable (1080i) TV's upconvert DVDs to only 480p, same as Samsung. HDTV signals will be downconverted to 480p. Frankly on TV screen this size, the differences between 1080i and 480p are minimal. Now if the viewing image is 100" across, that's another story.

found a better deal.....
went to grant tv and appliances (local b&m)
and they gave me a better deal....
$1950 for the 36" xbr450....plus they gave the sony stand
for $50 less than tweeter
so now i have a price war going on since tweeter was happy to match the price but the guy in grant t.v. said he can even go lower...
i'll keep you guys posted....
