Not looking for reviews of the new ones released a little over a month ago, but rather films like Notorious, Rebecca, the Paradine Case, and Strangers on a Train. Also, the Hitchcock Collections. Basically looking for any info on anything Hitchcock.

Also, even though it isn't Hitchcock, what about the Charade DVD Criterion?

I can't comment on the DVDs, but all four of those are good films. Paradine Case and Strangers on a Train are sub-par for Hitchcock (IMO) but still worth watching.

I picked up the CC of The 39 Steps for $10, and that is an incredibly PACKED disc. One of the most thorough presentations of a film you could hope for.

Charade has a very entertaining commentary track, I recommend it.

I agree on Paradine Case (only just barely worth watching, on cable, very late at night, DVD player on the fritz...)

Strangers on the Train, on the other hand, is top-shelf Hitchcock IMO, though not quite at the level of Rear Window or Vertigo. Still, virtuoso filmmaking from beginning to end and the DVD is wonderful (includes both American and British theatrical cuts).

I have Notorious and have seen the dvd of Rebecca. If you like the films, I recommend the discs. While there are no extras (who cares), the transfers are very nice in my opinion. Also, they are very reasonably proced if you can find them (under $20). If you have trouble doing so, give me an email.

Anyone heard any rumors of any new Hitch dvds, like To Catch a Thief or ANY new extra-filled versions of Rebecca, Notorious, or The Paradine Case.

Also, what are your favorite Hitch movies and what are the best extra features you have found on their respective dvds?

Strangers on a Train is an excellent movie and a pretty good disc. Quality is great, extras are sparse, but price is definately fair. The two Criterions DVDs of 39 Steps and The Lady Vanishes are awesome. The 39 Steps is PACKED and The Lady Vanishes is an awesome movie, despite a somewhat bare disc. Running short on time now though, hope that little bit helps.

vader987,

Well, if get some of Delta/Laserlight Hitchcock titles, you usually get an introduction by Tony Curtis. If you want to call that a feature. They are kind of funny to me.
