Video Quality: 4/5
Audio Quality: 5/5
Extras: Loaded! 5/5!

Worth it? Hell yeah!
Remarks:
Action-packed movie! (All I can say is WOW! Nice VisualFX, Great and entertaining story!)
Great cast! (Sean Connery, Ed Harris, Nicolas Cage... These guys are great! You'll be happy!)
Excellent 5.1! (BOOM! BANG! HANZ ZIMMER!!! )
Great video transfer! (Good but not great!)
Reminder:
Do not watch the trailer if you have never watch this movie before because it is a spoiler!

Totally agree on the criterion version. It rocks! Transfer is also better than the original release. DTS even! If you are a fan of the show, The Rock CC is the version to get. I really enjoyed it!

Criterion video transfers are notoriously crappy. I don't have my copy of this yet (soon), but I can't wait. For most Criterions the transfer may be crappy compared to if the studio released it themselves, but in this case we're talking about a crappy barebones DVD that had a bad transfer to begin with, so no matter what - this will be an improvement.
