I was extremely lucky to be able to grab a copy of this MGM (coming out 5/22) title early this morning. I can't say I've ever seen the film before (I'm sorry - I've seen a lot, but I haven't seen everything).
As I've spent the entire day reviewing titles, I can't give this one a complete review at the moment, but will be doing so tomorrow.
I've flipped through the film to get an idea of what the situation was in terms of image/sound quality. The presentation is not anamorphic, but shown in the film's original 1.66:1 aspect ratio. From what I have seen, the black and white presentation seems to be inconsistent and varies throughout.
Sharpness varies - some scenes look sharp and rather crisp; others looked noticably soft. There is some visible wear throughout the picture, including some dirt, speckles, marks and scratches. The wear at a couple of points was enough to be concerned about, but for the most part it was just somewhat distracting. Grain is mild at times, almost completely absent at others.
The sound, on the other hand, seemed pretty good for a 1959 film. There is both the original mono and a newly restored Dolby Digital 5.1 presentation. The clarity on the 5.1 presentation, from what I've listened to, is certainly not "modern" in quality, but I'd bet it's an improvement over the quality of past presentations.
There's not an enormous amount of features, but there's a handful - a documentary, 2 featurettes, a gallery and trailers.
Again, I haven't looked through the whole film yet, these are just thoughts as I was browsing through the disc. I thought people would appreciate a very early look.

Thanks, I followed your link to the review. This is one of my top-10 films of all-time. Of course I'm going to buy it. Still those extras don't seem that impressive. I'll have to think about it before I cough up the extra $7-10 for the SE.
