Just a question for ya, How much space do you have? I mean when you run these upgrades in the future is there any way besides trial by fire? Couldn't you open a beta area for a few days first or something? Just currious

I believe Geoff had a group of members beta testing vB 2.0 for the past few weeks before officially upgrading the site.

Here's the thing. I've had 2.0 up in a test environment for months, I've updated every beta and done testing.

The issue to date isn't if the software works, but how it handles the load of the forum. Up till Monday it looked like we were in the clear. But peak times on Monday and Tuesday just killed the server.

Trust me, I hate trial by fire more than you do. Just imagine what life is like on this end of the screen when things go so horriably wrong. Try having some sort of life when the server is always one step from dying.

Why don't you dump the views thing since it does not show unique views(unless this changed) only how many times it has been viewed total. ie a hundred views but only one person clicked it a hundred times.

maybe this is not possible, but you could always use one Fourm area as a Beta test? The other Fourm if that doesn't kill the servers.....
