I was told by someone that the region 2 Dumb & Dumber DVD had some parts cut out of it. Can anyone give me any information on this as to whether it is true or not?

Thanks.

Need more...

That post doesn't really mean very much to the region 2 DVD. I need to know from someone who has the region 2 DVD if there are any differences in comparison to the video that has been available for a long time.

Possibly around the mockingbird song and picking up the indian family from the side of the road... I was told that there was something different there - Anyone?

...I realize now that this must be a matter of the utmost importance - if not of life and death - to you, especially as it concerns such an important cinematic and acting masterpiece as is Dumb And Dumber... very sorry indeed that I could not be of more help to you... BTW: have you tried placing your inquiry on a UK Forum?

Why the hell does everyone on these boards think that they're better than everyone else? It doesn't have to be a masterpiece to be a good movie. Leave him alone, he's asking a question that's reasonable for this forum, whereas I don't believe you're being reasonable.

as far as i know the local R2 disc here in Sweden has more scenes than the VHS version, including one part where they give an indian family a lift.. very small additions though, i didn't really notice it.

He's asking a question about the DVD being cut, not your little review of a movie. Keep your opinions to yourself when its not needed.

Hey ThemeTitan,

have you already checked at http://www.rewind.org.uk/ ? They have this to say about Dumb & Dumber:

Dumb and Dumber

Region 1

Production notes
Theatrical trailer
Photo Gallery
4:3 and 1:85:1 widescreen anamorphic formats
Dolby Digital 5.1 format

Region 2

Production notes
Theatrical trailer
Photo Gallery
1:85:1 widescreen anamorphic format
Dolby Digital 2.0 format

OVERALL = Region 1 has a 5.1 soundtrack.

THIS FILM HAS NOT BEEN CUT FOR UK RELEASE. HOWEVER, THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION WAS SUBMITTED TO REWIND BY A VISITOR CALLED DAVE:

On the R2 version of Dumb & Dumber there is a cut to the UK release as far as i can tell.... Chapter 10, 37mins 20secs in to the film, where Harry & Lloyd are singing 'Mockingbird', just as the bad guy goes to reach for his gun they stop to pick up an American Indian family therefore preventing him from getting his gun....then the American Indian family join in singing Mockingbird with them - well this entire scene described has been cut from the UK DVD release. I have checked this with 3 different copies of the film on 3 different DVD Players, it is definitely not a Layer Change error either.....I am not sure about the R1 disc, but i know that the UK VHS release definitely has this scene intact....

DO YOU KNOW ANY FURTHER INFORMATION? PLEASE LET ME KNOW!
Your friendly servant,
Prutser.
