Crunchyroll 48-Hour Premium Guest Passes

Crunchyroll members get free guest passes. These usually go to waste, so I'll post them here in case anyone wants one. This will give you 48-hours full access to ad-free HD videos, manga, drama, and store sales. No credit card required.

You can use 10 guest passes within 6 months. That means that you have 10 guest pass charges and each one has a cool down of 6 months.

Redeem Here:

http://www.crunchyroll.com/guest_pass

GSRKUELATXJ (exp. 9/28/15)
QGFXHPCN3ZR (exp. 8/29/15)
C7XV8KHH87Z (exp. 7/30/15)

These might still be valid:

QPNL5PQZVR9 (exp. 12/31/15) - USED
EQMTNXSZKAY (exp. 12/31/15) - USED

If you redeem one, please post so that other people know which are used. Thanks.

I tried to give codes away before but instead of just giving them out, to ask for them in a Private messege, nobody asked so I stopped trying to give them away.

Here is mine if anyone wants them.

Redeem them here http://www.crunchyroll.com/guest_pass

Do they have the subtitled version of Dragon Ball Z, out of curiosity? Hulu only goes up to a certain point for some reason and my friend's DVDs are all those damned cropped orange boxes.

FUNimation has episodes 1-291 (Sub & Dub). If you just want Sub versions, they have a Subtitles-Only pass for around $13/3mos or $40/year.

Re: Crunchyroll 48-Hour Premium Guest Passes

Does anyone have Crunchyroll codes I could use? Send it as a PM please. I had to cut my anime spending and Crunchyroll was the first to go since I would rather watch animes on Blu-ray.

Re: Crunchyroll 48-Hour Premium Guest Passes

I didn't want to start a new thread but I'll assume most Crunchyroll users are aware of the massive complaints against it right now.

Apparently Crunchyroll has cut streaming bitrates to the bone and video quality has taken a severe hit. There is a huge thread on Reddit with hundreds of users complaining.

CR posted about it yesterday:

Most of it's over my head. But it sounds like they were upgrading to a new delivery system, and when they re-encoded their catalog, there was a problem in the video settings. Seems that it was a temporary mistake and they are fixing the problem.

I didn't even know there was a problem. I saw one episode of something a couple days ago and it seemed a little soft. I figured it was a bandwidth problem and that I was getting the SD stream. But last night I watched the new episode of Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid and it looked great.

The problem is Crunchyroll lied. This wasn't a one time mistake. This was something that had been an ongoing problem since last August, where they have consistently dropped the quality of all encodes after a week. The only thing that changed here is they implemented the lower quality encodes immediately instead of waiting a week to swap to them.

They did all this without being honest or upfront about it at all. Then when they were discovered, they covered it up and lied about it.

They're acting like it was something that happened one time by accident, yet it was an ongoing thing that had been happening for more than half a year and had been actively discussed about by many people and their support staff just ignored any inquiries about it. It took pirates outting them on Twitter and Medium and Reddit for them to even come out about the quality changes to begin with, but lying about when it happened and how it happened, only makes customers distrust them more so. There was no reason they couldn't have been upfront and honest.

Re: Crunchyroll 48-Hour Premium Guest Passes

I guess I'll have to check out what all the commotion is about. The first I heard of it was the posts by CR. I've never had any complaints about their streaming quality. Although I always felt that Funimation had better HD video.

Well FUNimation 1080p now streams at 10,000 bitrate.
While Crunchyroll 1080p normally was 3,200 bitrate.

The videos in question though were apparently encoded at crf=25 and came out to a mere 900 kbps, which is less than an ideal 480p should even be at in my opinion.

I just hope going forward they are more open about changes and alert customers before they happen, instead of sliding something through the back door and hoping no one noticed. We should be getting quality increases rather than decreases as Crunchyroll just a few months ago announced they were at a record high of over 1 million subscribers. Then they fired all of their engineers and outsourced the jobs to another company outside of the US for cheaper labor to cut costs.

Re: Crunchyroll 48-Hour Premium Guest Passes

I can only watch in SD with my internet connection of 1 mbps. I have no complaints other then I can't watch Crunchyroll or Funimation for free with ads, most of the time if I watch a streaming anime I buy it on blu-ray anyway. I joined Crunchyroll for a month to get the benefits when I go to Anime Boston and I have no problem streaming without ads. This was a perfect month to join so I can also watch TRINITY SEVEN ETERNITY LIBRARY & ALCHEMIC GIRL

I used to have 3 mbps internet but wanted to try 1 mbps becouse it was cheaper and as long as I don't try to watch "Streaming HD Videos" theirs not much I can't do, I can even still download PS4 games thats a couple gigabits big I just download at night.
