Funimation Simul-dubs

If your lazy like me and rather watch a dub than read subtitles these are fantastic. Dubs released within weeks of the original airing in Japan. Surprised it took someone this longs to come up with this idea.

Re: Funimation Simul-dubs

Only simuldub I've been watching since they started doing this thing is 'Seraph of the End'. It's a nice concept and I hope they continue it.

Re: Funimation Simul-dubs

I'm watching Seraph, Blood Blockade, Assasination classroom and Highscool DxD S3. Though I may bail on DxD as its gotten pretty boring. I finished S2 of Durarara and it was excellent. But Absolute Duo and World Break were both a chore to slog through.

When do you think they'll announce the Summer seasons Simuldubs?

Re: Funimation Simul-dubs

I'm kind of figuring it'd be 5-6 weeks after the simulcast premiers of Summer; since the previous Simuldubs were about 5-6 episodes behind as well. So I'm hopeful we'll here something late July or early August. I doubt they've just up and decided to stop doing Simuldubs. It seemed pretty popular.

Looking forward to Gangsta I guess, but I'm a little disappointed Charlotte, GATE, and Overlord won't be part of it.

Aniplex of America has Charlotte. Sentai Filmworks has GATE.

As for Overlord, it remains to be seen if FUNimation will include it with its broadcast dub lineup.

So does that make it impossible for them to be simuldubbed?

Sentai has yet to do one. AoA has done one so far and it's Durarara!!x2. I would say GATE is not very likely. Charlotte may be longshot. Nothing is impossible. But outside of FUNimation, expect pretty most (to almost all) simulcasts to be subtitled.

Re: Funimation Simul-dubs

GANGSTA.
Glad I waited. FUNi's Broadcast Dub / Simuldub did not disappoint. GANGSTA. did not disappoint either. Only one episode in but it's already looking like AotS material, or at the very least on-par with some others. It really does have that Black Lagoon vibe going for it, only a bit grittier than that. Wondering what's so special about having dog tags, or why they refer to people with them as 'Tags'. I'm sure we'll find out soon.

Sky Wizards Academy
This anime is trying to be bad and it shows. Crappy CG, crappy animation, lack of detail, high contrast, blur, crappy cliches, cookie-cutter characters, cookie-cutter plot. Is there anything original about this show? Is there any merit to this? I certainly didn't find it after episode one.

This show was something I passed on watching this season because it didn't seem like it'd be something worth watching, however I picked it up and gave it a chance because FUNimation was doing a Broadcast Dub (aka Simuldub) and I figured why not?

What is up with all the girls screaming 'pervert' and acting like the MC is trying to rape them? One girl drops her jelly toast on his crotch after running into him because she was rushing and not paying attention and them blames him for it and says he was molesting her breakfast and starts screaming. The next girl walks up to him while he's washing the jelly off his pants and starts screaming rape because he didn't have pants on... Could she not clearly see he was washing his pants before she walked up?

Re: Funimation Simul-dubs

I'm always a little behind since I mostly hear Funimation's dubs through their Blu-ray releases but I haven't been liking too many of their recent dubs. The general level of voice acting in them has gone down over the years.
