Re: Sailor Moon Licensed in North America

I just watched that trailer, and all I could think of was how technically poor it is:
  • the shading on the characters looks all wrong
  • the compositing between the foreground characters and backgrounds is obvious and the seams show
  • the frame rate isn't nearly as fluid as we're used to in the New Tens

Re: Sailor Moon Licensed in North America

I was expecting a lot more news updates about sailor moon yesterday, like maybe a TV broadcast date or something. however you can tell they are pushing the info out as fast as they can. during the panel they said that not all the Sailor Scout VA's went into dubbing yet. Also the chipboard box was approved on Friday.

I've never actually seen an episode of Sailor Moon. I guess I will wait for this new dub.

Not a single actor from the old dub cast is returning?

Usagi/Serena's voice sounds good but I don't like the cats voice. Sounds too much like it could be one of the sailor scouts.

They're restarting from scratch then? I'm ashamed to admit this, but I was into the DIC dub as a young fellow. My friend's sister has a terrifying obsession with this show, I'm sure she'll be thrilled to death.

I don't mind the dub too much but I do miss the English theme song.

I got my reversible cover in the mail today, I was wondering the blu-ray case that holds the disks for the first season was broken when I got it in the mail, could I call the same # to get a new case?

Re: Sailor Moon Licensed in North America

Shame the Viz BDs are such a shitty upscale job and their dvds are done from their upscaled garbage.

http://screenshotcomparison.com/comp....php?id=100388
^ Washed away all detail such as rain (there's no rain in Viz release, wtf)... added more hue and contrast...

http://screenshotcomparison.com/comparison.php?id=98564
^ completely wiped away all detail, no shingles on roof, etc... lines just completely erased.

http://screenshotcomparison.com/comparison.php?id=98804
^ ghosting caused from field-blending... again completely DNR'd.

http://screenshotcomparison.com/comparison.php?id=99039
^ more ghosting. Viz BD so blurred the text is unreadable in the background. The rose is distorted as the lines were deleted from poor filtering.
