I rarely say this, but this is one story that could really use some tightening up and editing out a of few things. Like every time some character starts monologuing about how unworthy they are or how great someone else is. Which happens like 3 or 4 times an episode.

Re: Attack On Titan

Just started watching this series on Hulu. I had heard about the manga and saw some sample pages and the art and premise was creepy enough but that was it. I started watching this show last night and it's really good. I thought it was going to be mostly a horror themed anime but it's turned into a lot of action and the character drama is good.

Re: Attack On Titan

FYI, the Attack On Titan: LE Part 2 (w/Artbox) is slowly being scooped up on RightStuf. This is the somewhat affordable requested version many fans had hoped for. If anyone has purchased the Part 1 LE, I'd definitely get this.

1 Left on their website.

We'll see if the number goes back up to "99".

Damn, this has to be the first time I missed out on something I wanted. It doesn't even come out for another two months.

Edit: I checked back a few days later and they had more stock I got the last one. Hopefully they continue to get more for people that missed out.

I really tried to like this show since it seems so popular but Attack on Titan does absolutely nothing for me. I recently gave up on it after the first 12 or 13 episodes. I think the premise has some promise but it needs a better writer to tell the story.

Re: Attack On Titan

Got a shipping notice from Right Stuf for the Volume 2 Limited Edition.

Haven't spent so much on a single anime release in a long, long, long time.

Agreed, and is it just me or is Zoe Hange the loveliest mad scientist ever?

Re: Attack On Titan

Did they really not translate the text on the commercial break screens in the Funimation release, or is it some setting I'm missing?

Translations are in the still gallery in the extras.

Re: Attack On Titan

Isn't there a spoof/comedy dub of this show somewhere? I saw it one day on a co-worker's smartphone but can't seem to find it. I did find it pretty funny.

Why would they do that? I seem to remember that even the Crunchyroll sub had it translated in the episode itself.

Anyone reading the manga?

The latest chapter is out. Prepare to have your mind blown.

Re: Attack On Titan

Yeah. Surprised. We still have to wait for basement surprise.

The series seems to pull different direction from fighting titans to fight within walls against different squad and politicians and now this... Crazy story. Cannot wait to see how it ends!

Re: Attack On Titan

I still feel like the series just falls into a wall of exposition and almost psychic predictions/deductions made by the main characters where they almost seem infallible.

Warning, these are manga spoilers, not anime spoilers:

For instance, the reveal that
Spoiler:
eating a human-Titan by another human-Titan lets them inherit powers

seemingly came out of nowhere, to me, but very convenient to what else is going on. This seems to happen a lot. As far as plot goes:

Spoiler:

So Eren's dad went to the church, turned into a Titan, battled a transformed Frieda, presumably ate her to get whatever power she had and killed most of the family, then injected Eren and got eaten to pass on the power to him?

I have to go back and look, but what about Eren turning into a Titan caused Reiner, Bertholt and Annie to change their plans? Did he exhibit his power early on? Because it seems like humans who turn into Titans are like a dime a dozen.

That's what I read... It was bit unclear and we'll have to wait till next month for further story.

Re: Attack On Titan

Saw Part II on BD and didn't really care for it all that much. Great animation and action but man did it drag in many parts.

Next month? Does that next part of the anime start soon?

Re: Attack On Titan

I'm so glad I decided to bail on this show after 12 episodes, the spoilers don't do a single thing for me. I will wait for the Hollywood remake.
