Re: Rebuild of Evangelion

Having just sat through the Blu-ray Evangelion 1.11 I can't stress enough how freaking awesome it is. Sure there are a couple of low points, but holy damn this film is epic all around!

Keep in mind that this is first of four films. Only the first one has been licensed so far. It will be just matter of time before the next one gets licensed.

I've only watched the dub, and I thought Rei's dream near the beginning, which had a voice-over repeating two names over and over, was a very low point.

Yes, I am aware of that. Still, getting any amount of Evangelion on Blu-ray is fantastic.

Re: Rebuild of Evangelion

Watched this today. I liked a lot of the changes, especially to the diamond angel. The framing seemed tight in some parts, though, but I guess that was inevitable going from 4:3 to 16x9.

Re: Rebuild of Evangelion

It's the same framing they used when they reanimated the scenes for Death & Rebirth. It looked overly tight then too.

Re: Rebuild of Evangelion

Speaking of Eva...there is now a Evangelion Movie 1.01: You Are Not Alone EVA Unit 01 1/80 Scale Vinyl Statue (additional pics linked here).

It's available for purchase at Robert's Anime Corner Store for a hefty $2000.00!

How long is it gonna take for all of these to come out? Are all four of the films even finished?

Re: Rebuild of Evangelion

Thanks for that info.

I'm correct in assuming 2.22 is the one right after 1.10 or whatever?

Yeah it comes after 1.0 (1.01, 1.11). And it may be for those who don't want to wait. Even if FUNimation does license it this year, it's highly unlikely that it will be released this year (and it could be longer if there is theatrical obligations).

That's the cheapest price yet (price-matching FYE.com).

Awesome. In. Thanks! Funny that I started this thread, but I'm a latecomer to actually get this. Never did make it to the theater to see it like I hoped.

I own one of the HK BD versions. It was worth it for me. I would guess that FUNimation won't release it until mid of 2011 at the earliest.

Re: Rebuild of Evangelion

How many more movies are they planning? I want to do the unthinkable, and hold out watching any of them until ALL of them are released in the US.
