GKIDS Acquires Rights To ‘Mary And The Witch’s Flower’, First Feature From Studio Ponoc
Acclaimed animation producer and distributor GKIDS has acquired the North American distribution rights to Mary And The Witch’s Flower. The film is the first feature from the Japan-based Studio Ponoc.
Academy Award-nominated director Hiromasa Yonebayashi (The Secret World of Arrietty, When Marnie Was There) helms the film based on Mary Stewart’s 1971 children’s book The Little Broomstick. It was adapted for the big screen by Yonebayashi and Riko Sakaguchi. The story centers on an ordinary young girl named Mary, who discovers a flower that grants magical powers, but only for one night. As she is whisked into an exciting new world beyond belief, she must learn to stay true to herself. Studio Ponoc founder and two-time Academy Award-nominated Yoshiaki Nishimura (The Tale of The Princess Kaguya, When Marnie Was There) produces the film.
GKIDS also distributed The Tale of The Princess Kaguya and When Marnie Was There, and both received Oscar nods for Best Animated Feature. Yonebayashi’s The Secret World of Arrietty remains the highest-grossing Studio Ghibli title in the United States to date.

The Mobile Suit Gundam Wing TV series will be released across two sets, on both Blu-ray and DVD, in November 2017. Mobile Suit Gundam Wing: Endless Waltz will be released on both Blu-ray and DVD in December 2017 in a set that includes both the OVA and Movie versions of Endless Waltz, along with the never-before-released four-part OVA Operation Meteor! A little over 75% of the project funds will be used for the dub and updating of the source materials of the program to Blu-Ray Quality, 15% will be used for the production of the physical media and packaging, and the remainder will be overhead and the fees to run the project on the platform.
Your funds will go toward creating the best possible Blu-Ray release that we can - one that you will be proud to have on your shelf. Our production team are anime fans and collectors themselves, and will be uncompromising when it comes to review and approval of the dubbed script, the dub tracks, the video quality, and the authoring.
We will have stretch goals to add other merchandise items, and a couple of super stretch goals to add additional seasons to the project.
About the Dub
As our partner on this project, we have chosen to work with Joe DiGiorgi at Headline Sound as our director, who we have worked closely with as a director and a producer on a number of our titles, including His and Her Circumstances, Comic Party, Boogiepop Phantom, The Third, amongst others. Joe has also handled many well known dubs from classic titles such as Record of Lodoss War, Genshiken, Queen's Blade, and Ikki Tousen. Headline Sound is based in New York City.
Holdback on mainstream release
This is a Kickstarter Special Edition. Once we have fulfilled all of the rewards, we will have a six month (or longer) holdback waiting period before we will release a regular edition to the public. We will be, if the project funds, allowing others to buy into the Kickstarter pricing and project for a while through our website, essentially as after-funding for those with interest, but that will be cut off as we get production started.
Will the original subtitles form the show still be on the Blu-ray disc?
Yes, we will include both the new English Dubbed version as well as the Japanese with English subtitled version on the disc when created. Please note the Blu-Ray disc will be Region A only. Note that when watching the Japanese version, the subtitles will not be possible to turn off; this is a licensing requirement that we cannot change.

OSOMATSU. VIZ Media announced the news during its official panel held this past weekend during Otakon 2017.
Inspired by the classic manga series Osomatsu-Kun created by Fujio Akatsuka, MR. OSOMATSU is animated by Studio Pierrot, which also produced the massively successful BLEACH and NARUTO anime series (also distributed in English by VIZ Media). VIZ Media has acquired the digital streaming, EST, home video and merchandise rights for MR. OSOMATSU. Season One of the series was originally broadcast in Japan in 2015-2016, and Season Two is slated to start this Fall.
Forget double the fun because here's a series that amps up the insanity six silly ways! The Matsuno sextuplets are quite a bunch. One's always hanging out at the local Pachinko joint, one un-ironically wears sequined pants, one is a total otaku with a fancy for idols while another brother would rather just loaf around with some cats and his own ennui. The fifth brother loves baseball but was probably dropped on his head a couple times and then there?s the youngest, who really leans into that sweet baby brother angle, if you know what we mean. None of them have jobs, but they do have one heck of a tab run up at the local Oden stand! With so many brothers with too much time on their hands, there?s sure to be some crazy (and raunchy) adventures!

HOUSTON, TX, AUGUST 15, 2017 - Sentai Filmworks and Los Angeles-based Azoland Pictures will be premiering the highly-anticipated animated feature film, No Game, No Life Zero, at the Los Angeles Anime Film Festival (LA-AFF).

The movie’s English dub cast will include vocal talent from the original English production of the anime series, including Scott Gibbs, Caitlynn French, Shannon Emerick, and Kira Vincent-Davis.

The film takes place six thousand years before Sora and Shiro were even a blink in the history of Disboard. Gkids Acquires Japanese Sci-Fi Fantasy ‘Napping Princess’ For Fall Release
Gkids, the distributor with nine Animated Feature Oscar nominations to its credit since 2010, has acquired North American rights to Napping Princess, the Kenji Kamiyama-helmed film that played the Annecy International Animation Film Festival this year and won the animated feature award at the Fantasia Film Festival. Gkids plans a September 8 platform bow in New York at Los Angeles, followed by a national rollout.
The pic, previously known as Ancien and the Magic Tablet, is set in the near future and follows the journey of a young girl, Kokone, and her friend Morio as they set out to find Kokone’s missing father who has been accused of a crime. Kokone soon realizes she must tap into a world only accessible through her dreams in order to solve the mystery. The film will bow theatrically in both its original Japanese language and a new English dubbed version. (Check out the dubbed trailer below.)
Kamiyama’s directing credits include East of Eden and Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex.

10 years after the Holy Grail War—a battle waged by Masters and Servants over the wish-granting container, the Holy Grail—another war breaks out in Fuyuki City.
Shirou Emiya—the adopted son of Kiritsugu Emiya, a participant of the previous Holy Grail War—resolves to fight, carrying out Kiritsugu’s dying wish.
There’s a young girl by Shirou’s side who’s in love with him—Sakura Matou.
Every morning, she goes to Shirou’s house to make breakfast and dinner for him, bringing kindness into the life of a boy utterly alone in the world.
But once the Holy Grail War starts, there’s a change in the air in Fuyuki City.
Murders abound across the city, and the atmosphere grows ominous.
Shirou decides to shelter Sakura in his home.
Along with Saber, the Servant he summons, Shirou allies himself with the magus Rin Tohsaka and takes part in the Holy Grail War.
