To be honest, I'll be surprised if either gets licensed. I would think it's either Bandai Ent. or nothing. And it has been over 4 years since the first OVA release. It's pretty much getting the Banner of the Stars III treatment...

You can buy it (Season 1) from select online retailers including Amazon.com. It remains to be seen if TRSI will list it (along with a couple other December BD titles) before the current studio sale ends.

I was about to get it myself for the FUNi studio sale @ TRSI, but the news about the possible BD changed it. As much as I want to see this, I not double dipping on it. Even if the BD release is delayed slightly, I think I can manage.

ADV Films has announced that it is shutting down after transfering its assets to several other companies that will continue its operations. AEsir Holdings has acquired selected programming from ADV's film library along with other intellectual property. The SXION 23 (Section23 Films) home video distribution company will assume account servicing and distribution operations for AEsir's assets. Valkyrie Media Partners has acquire 100% of ADV's Anime Network television unit, while Seraphim Studios has ADV's Amusement Park Media production unit

Former ADV Films staffer Chris Oarr has notified ANN that several former staffers have joined SXION 23 and the other companies.

This includes pre-order items in the pipeline but not yet released. They will still be coming out, and the schedule will not change. We'll be updating our catalog over the next few days to reflect Section 23 as the new publisher of ADV's (former) titles...
