What's especially impressive is that the previous record-holder had held the top spot for almost 25 years: It was Beverly Hills Cop.

I walked out of this movie (to go see another that I had gotten tickets for), but the 45 minutes or so that I saw was just ok. Other people in the theatre seemed to like it though. I would have stayed, and saw the one I had tickets for later if it was better, but I just couldn't get into it. Was kind of bizarre and so unrealistic it left me empty.

I wonder if the number they gave for Beverly Hills Cop is adjusted for today's dollars. If not, then I'd say Hangover would have to be #2 all time.
Though it doesn't really matter in the end. Super Troopers is probably nowhere near the top of R rated comedies, but it is still all kinds of awesome.

The wife and I went to see this last night. **** out of five.
She laughed - I laughed more - although she was a little saddened by the scenes involving the baby as we have a 15-week-old son.
The theater was packed as if it was opening night. I couldn't believe it considering how long ago it opened.

It was pretty funny for the first half, but then got kinda boring. I didn't think any of the main characters were very good or interesting other than Hacksaw Jim Duggan.
But it was decent. And at least it didn't have Seth Rogan or the fat-ass kid from Superbad in it. I can't stand either of those two and they seem to be in everything these days.

Re: The Hangover---Latest from Todd Phillips
Saw this for the first time last night. Laughed my ass for the first half of the movie...
Not a bad flick (actually, some pretty hiliarious scenes), but certainly second half not as good as first 45 minutes of film. I'd give it 2 1/2 stars out of 5.

Who would have guessed this would become the highest-grossing R-rated comedy of all-time?
$272m and counting... and I still haven't seen it.

Is this really the only thread for this film?
I thought this movie was pretty damn hilarious the whole way through - there's a lot of subtle/dry humour in this movie (my fav kind) and it worked really well.
For those that didn't like Old School - don't worry, this movie is much better - wouldn't mind watching this one again soon.
