Re: Stargate 15th Anniversary BD - 10/27!
Actually its one day before its theatrical release in theatres 15 years ago on October 28th 1994.
I remember when this came out, i had no desire to pay money towards it let alone see it cause Star Trek Generations was comming out a week latter.
about 6 months to a year latter when it came out on VHS i recieved a phone call that i had won a copy of it on VHS in a contest(which i didnt even know i entered) I have loved this movie ever since having owned it on VHS DVD and Bluray iam happily rebuying it on the newest bluray disc

Yeah, I have a fond remembrance of seeing this in theater... back when I used to pour over the newspaper's movie section every sunday... had never heard of the movie but knew it was a must see when I saw it. That 14 yr old kid sure enjoyed it

Most people over there seem to think it's better both in audio and video.

Trusting IGN for a BD review is like trusting an auto mechanic to perform your open heart surgery.....

First and foremost, the coloring problems that plagued the prior version have been corrected this time around, removing the “hot” skin tones, and artificial brightness boosting. On this version, we have a natural color scheme that accurately reproduces the spectrum of the source material, creating a highly appealing experience. Additionally, the level of fine object detail reveals elevated clarity in comparison with the prior release, though it still doesn’t approach the precision of a glossy modern production.
From the booming voices of Ra’s bodyguards to the high-pitched wail of the futuristic planes soaring overhead, the audio mix is never bashful in making demands of every speaker throughout your room. Accentuating the excellent separation, clarity and balance in the various elements of the track, the dominant LFE portion will give your subwoofer a much-needed workout through the multiple explosions, sandstorms and rumbling undertones of the musical score.
