I'm a sucker for anything Ricky Gervais is in and this one didn't disappoint. It is a little strange watching him as a romantic lead but otherwise a pretty funny movie
National Treasure: Book of Secrets 1/14/2009--DVD
I gotta say I'm a sucker for a decent globe-hopping adventure flick, must be due for my affinity of the old Indy movies. Now the National Treasure films are no where near there caliber, but very fun and enjoyable nonetheless.
Vicky Christina Barcelona 1/30/2009--DVD
Woody Allen is an expert at examining human relationships through the characters and relationships of theirs that he creates, and Vicky is a shining example of his talent on display. Rebecca Hall gives a wonderful performance in this.
Traitor 2/6/2009--DVD
This one seemed to fly under the radar of most moviegoers when it was first released, I know I missed it's theatrical run and that's a shame. It was a thoroughly taut thriller-suspense-action film with some great performances.

A fairly predictable mystery-thriller. It had it's moments and was pretty entertaining but also had it's fair share of head-scratching moments dealing with it's characters on-screen choices.
The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian 1/6/2009--DVD
I liked it better than the first but on the whole these Narnia movies are turning out to be some underwhelming fantasy flicks. I've never read the source material so I can't speak to whether they are getting proper treatment but my guess is that they aren't.
Burn After Reading 1/9/2009--DVD
I like dark comedies as much as the next person but for some reason the lead's performances in this just felt so over the top that it took me out of the movie at times. To me the best parts of the movies were the understated reactions by the C.I.A. officials.
Sukiyaki Western Django 1/12/2009--DVD
The only other Miike movie I've seen is Ichi the Killer, and I'm thankful this was a far more conventional movie than that. It was a pretty cool hard boiled western. I enjoyed it but the acting held it back.
City of Ember 1/29/2009--DVD
I rather liked the world created in this book to screen adaptation. Its a shame it did so poorly I would have liked to have seen the other books adapted. Maybe their set design wouldn't have looked so cheap at times.

I love The Office and I'm a huge Rainn Wilson fan. That said this one was pretty funny and genuine at times. The trailers and commercials were horrendous but I'm glad to say the movie itself was nowhere near as stupid as they made it out to be
